Weight lifting

I know nothing about weightlifting and have never heard about it so I would like to learn about it.
The purpose of weight lifting is to lift the heaviest weight and be able to hold it up for a certain amount of
time. If you drop the bar you’re out .  You get 3 attempts to not drop the bar, otherwise if you drop it more
#than 3 times you get disqualified.


Some people do it to have a healthy body and to lose weight if you are not happy about the way you’re
living……    


Rule 1: Lifters are not permitted to have any substance on their thighs when arriving in the competition area.


Rule 2: After the referees signal to lower the barbell, the lifter must lower it in front of the body and not let
it drop either deliberately or accidentally. The grip on the barbell may be released when it has passed the
level of the waist.
